Frequently Asked Questions
How do I participate? Go to the sign up page, read the information, click on “sign up now” and fill in your personal information. Once you have confirmed your registration by following the link in the e-mail we have sent you, you are an official participant of the Scriptwriting Competition.
What does it mean to be an official participant? It means that you are set to go and that you can participate fully in the Scriptwriting Competition. Information will be sent directly to your e-mail account and you will be registered for the online course. If you have given us your mailing address, a CD-ROM with the training course will be sent to you. To be an official participant is an opportunity and not an obligation; as a participant you are neither bound to follow the online training course nor to submit a script.
How do I submit my script for the competition? If you’re taking the online training course you will be able to submit your script at the end of the course. If you’re not taking the online course, send your script by e-mail to  no later than November 1, 2009.
What will happen to my script after I have submitted it? All submitted scripts will be read and judged by an international panel of judges. All scriptwriters will receive feedback on their scripts. The best scripts will be published in English and French by Farm Radio International in print and online, and distributed to radio stations across sub-Saharan Africa.
I have very limited internet access, can I still participate? Yes, of course you can. You will only need internet access to submit your script. If you wish to follow the Scriptwriting Course and live in a remote area with very limited internet access, you can request to get a copy of the course on CD-ROM. You make this request when you sign up for the competition.
I’m not from Africa, can I participate in the Scriptwriting Competition? We welcome all interested radio scriptwriters to take part of our online training course and develop their skills to write radio scripts. However, the competition is for African-based individuals/organizations.
